Project Design Services (NSW) is a development consulting practice, providing services of architects, planners, engineers and project managers, specialising in complex projects.

Our director has been providing professional services to various clients since the late ninetees. We have been involved in a number of projects, ranging from a single luxury home to a 100ha residential development, to major port facilities.

A tight project control mechanism enables us to reduce the time required for documenting a project, for co-ordinating activities of secondary consultants and for handling construction issues.

After graduating from the University of Zagreb, Croatia, Igor Vavrica has worked in Europe, North America, East Africa and Asia and was involved with capital projects ranging from airports and hotels to auditoriums and prestige office buildings. During this period he formed strategic alliances with a number of experts in specialised design fields, such as Airplan GMBH from Stuttgart, Germany.

Having moved to Australia and initially working for several architectural practices, including Bosich+Miller (in Perth) and Brewster Murray Architects in Sydney, Igor settled in as CAD manager for Masterton Homes Pty Ltd – at the time the largest home builder in Australia. The strong working relationship with this company is maintained to date.

Project Design Services (NSW) Pty Ltd were founded in 2002. Originally a documentation practice supporting Sydney’s volume builders, this business quickly developed into a multi-disciplinary practice of architects and engineers, specialised in residential developments, mass housing and complex projects ranging from special industrial projects, to port facilities.

We offer planning, design, design management, engineering, project management and construction management services, up to and including turn-key management contracts based on our or others’ project documentation.

Project Design Services historically delivered excellent results when contracted to manage all stages of design, then erection of structure only. Recently we built the structure for a 3 storey office building in only 3 weeks. This exceptional result is based on our experience and on utilising some of the most advanced construction methods currently available. Some of our clients prefer this approach to managing their projects, as it delivers the critical-path project segments on time and money, letting them arrange the fit-out at their own pace.

For others, our extensive experience with volume building of residential dwellings means instantaneous worldwide access to affordable materials and trades, resulting in considerable savings which span all stages of construction.

Traditionally packaged design, engineering and consulting services are available to clients with their own project/construction management facilities.

PDS have formed firm strategic alliances with Australia’s expert consultants in the design and construction field. Our advice on buildability and design efficiency is sought after by a number of major players in the local construction industry.

Masterton Homes Pty Ltd are one such client: since the late ninetees Igor Vavrica has been a primary consultant to Masterton Homes, facilitating documentation for up to 2000 individual houses per year. Masterton’s drafting department utilises today a highly efficient CAD system, that has been developed and custom written as part of our management brief.

A healthy working relationship with Rapid Building Systems is the result of 20 years of joint development and streamlining of a system for designing and documenting structures designated for building in Rapidwall - a lightweight, prefabricated structural system used today form the Middle East to Tahiti.

Norwest Limited, is the owner of one of the largest land holdings in Australia, with the land periodically released to general public. We have been planning and designing Norwest’s high quality housing developments since the inception of PDS.

Our expertise in housing brought us together with Mirvac, producing designs for difficult sites at Sydney’s Hills District.

Since 2009 we have been involved in mass housing projects in the Middle East, India and China.

In 2005 we started providing integrated consulting services to Duplex Australia, on an exclusive basis. Duplex Australia is a new generation D&C operation, relying upon our professional services and tapping into construction capacity of reputable building contractors, Australia-wide. We are an integral part of our client's ‘building on demand’ business model.
